HURRICANE LAURA

Hurricane Laura has cut an enormous area of damage along the coast and 100 miles inland.  SGSO is responding and has determined from in person damage assessment that our response should be centered where the eye landed in Sulphur/ Lake Charles Louisiana .  We are calling on your assistance with prayers, volunteer service and donations.  Work locations at the Enterprise Blvd Church of Christ in Lake Charles and Maplewood Church of Christ in Sulphur will be in place by Friday 9/4/2020.   Our neighbors on the coast are returning a week later to homes damaged and communities devastated by “unsurvivable” winds and storm surge.  They need your help and in person encouragement in the process of clean up and restoration of their lives. Please go to SGSO.org click on the Volunteer tab and we will follow up. GO to SGSO.org and click donate to fund the current worksite needs gas, gas cans, generators, ac units for elderly, chainsaws, chainsaw 50:1 fuel, skinsters,   These are immediate needs to allow people to return, get to and into their home until the community power is restored over the next 30 days.  We will be working at this work for an estimated 12-18  months to rebuild and restore their lives.

This is our opportunity to serve God by serving others. God is good.
